WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
The PMP Exam Prep Workshop is a 6-day, 42 contact hour, seminar designed to prepare candidates to sit for, and pass, the PMP certification exam. Seminar instructors, who each hold the PMP designation themselves, guide participants through the Process Groups and Knowledge Areas from the PMI Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®), as well as the topic of Professional Responsibility and a Practice Certification Exam.
The workshop is intended to reacquaint participants with the PMBOK and is not an introduction to Project Management practice. Rather, its goal is to prepare students to pass the PMP certification exam. The workshop is a service provided by the PMI-San Diego component for its members’ benefit and includes a continental breakfast, refreshments and lunch.
WORKSHOP DATES
Six consecutive Saturdays Oct. 10th through Nov. 14th, 2009. Classes run 8:30 – 4:30PM
Registration accepted with payment only. No reservations! Registration closes Sept. 26, 2009 or when sold out at 40 students. HURRY!!
See what people are saying about PMI-SD's PMP Prep Courses:
“Of the different study methods/companies I researched, the PMI prep class had the best combination – It was a local course, had a good background, and a low cost. The course was interactive and provided mental training on how to read and take the exam. This was instrumental for me and very helpful. The course also offered a strong breadth and depth of data and information and gave me information I may have skipped over otherwise in self study. My favorite thing about the class was the exposure it gave me to what other Project Managers were doing. I saw real-life experiences from different industries and at both senior and junior levels. I also learned a lot from other the student’s questions and perspectives and met some great contacts.”
Laurajean Rispens-Gaspard, PMP - San Diego chapter member
“What attracted me to the course was the cost and number of educational hours it provided, the materials that were provided, the ability to interact with the other students, the reputation of the chapter, and the fact that it was a local course and all instructors were PMP certified. The format of the course was very good. We would look at sample exam questions at the beginning of the morning sessions, then go through training, and take the questions again afterwards. It gave us items to pay attention to, and this worked out really well. We got into the mindset of how to answer exam questions, and this really helped me. I also learned a lot about resources other students in the class found valuable when studying for the exam. Since then, I have stayed in contact with lots of different colleagues I met in the course, and this has been extremely valuable to me.
Mike Carew, PMP - San Diego chapter member
“The PMP prep course was quite good in getting me prepared for the exam. It helped me go methodically through the PMBOK. The instructors were all PMP-certified and knowledgeable. They shared lots of thoughts and experience and pointed us to good, additional materials to study for the exam. At the end of the six-week course, we took a self-assessment exam that gave me confidence in taking the exam. Four weeks after completing the prep course, I successfully passed the PMP exam. The course was a great value, and I would absolutely recommend it to others.”
